Great Bay St. Road Closure (Maravista)

The Board of Selectman’s agenda for Monday, January 6, 2014, 7:00 PM, includes a Summary of Action:Β  – “Request for Additional Road Closure on Great Bay Street between Hiawatha St. and Providence St.”

The following information about Great Bay Street Road closures is on the Town of Falmouth website:Β  http://www.falmouthmass.us/deppage.php?number=528

“Per order of the Board of Selectmen:Β  Beginning November 1st and until further notice.

Due to coastal bank erosion along the easterly sideline of Great Bay Street and Great Pond, Portions of Great Bay Street shall be closed to vehicular traffic.

The following roadways shall be affected:

SECTION 1.
Great Bay Street – Oak Street to Harrington Street shall be closed, approx. 350’.
Oak Street – Shall be dead ended at Great Bay Street.
Randolph Street – Shall be dead ended at Great Bay Street.
Harrington Street – Vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel south along Great Bay Street.

SECTION 2.
Great Bay Street – Montauk Street to Cypress Street shall be closed, Approx. 250’.
Montauk Street – Vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel north along Great Bay Street.
Cypress Street – Vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel south along Great Bay Street.

SECTION 3.
Great Bay Street – Iroquois Street to Reynolds Street shall be closed, Approx. 460’.
Iroquois Street – Vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel north along Great Bay Street.
Toledo Street – Shall be dead ended at Great Bay Street.
Reynolds Street – Vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel south along Great Bay Street.

Update 1/8/2014
Traveling down Hiawatha Street, vehicles will be able to head north along Great Bay Street.
Traveling down Providence Street, vehicles will be able to head south along Great Bay Street.

The affected portions of roadway shall remain open for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.”
