Mayflower Wind Member Survey Results & Call To Action: Select Board 12/20/21 Agenda – Mayflower Wind Discussion

The FHMNA Board of Directors requested our membership to participate in a survey regarding the Mayflower Wind Project and its proposed onboarding of cabling at Falmouth Heights Beach and then proceeding onto Worcester Ave Park and/or Central Park Avenue to a substation north of town.

Thanks to those who responded to the survey. Here are the results:
• 145 individuals responded to the survey
• 100% of respondents have an interest in the project
• 95% of respondents are aware of the project
• 96% of respondents have read articles or briefs on the project
• 86% of respondents are opposed to the onboarding in our neighborhood and 14% in favor

On Monday, 12/20/21, the Select Board will discuss the following in an Executive Session at 5:30 p.m. (not open to the public):

M.G.L. c.30A s.21(a)(6) and s.21(a)(3) – To consider the value of Mayflower Wind Electric Cable easements and other matters to be presented at the Energy Facilities Siting Board and Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act regulatory tribunals in connection the proposed electric cable – Mayflower Wind

Their Open Meeting begins at 7 p.m. and includes:

8:15 p.m. BUSINESS 1. Brief staff update on Mayflower Wind proposed electric cable installation in Falmouth (10 minutes)
