The FHMNA has recently learned from the DPW that work is beginning to beautify the Heights Beach area. Below is information directly from Peter McConarty, Director, Dept. of Public Works.
“We wanted to let you know that asphalt paving crews will be milling and paving Grand Ave in the vicinity of the Road Race finish line and Central Park Ave this coming week. The milling and paving of the boardwalk is going to take some coordinating when paving. Beachgoers will be directed to certain areas to avoid the hot pavement.
“Our Highway Division is there today (6/1/26) installing a new guardrail fence along Central Park Ave.
“They will also be working on and paving the boardwalk on the beach side.
In addition, the Highway Division will begin installing a new guardrail fence on the backside of the parking lot.
“We received 4 new benches for the finish line garden, and they will be installed during the month of June.”
