Shipwrecked Requesting AMPLIFIED MUSIC 7 Days Per Week

a. Approve application to amend the Entertainment License and Sunday Entertainment License – Shipwrecked, LLC dba Shipwrecked, 263 Grand Avenue, Falmouth

Shipwrecked is currently licensed for ACOUSTIC music outdoors on their patio from 2 PM to 8 PM, 7 days per week.

If approved, this new request would allow AMPLIFIED music with microphones and speakers.

The letter from their manager to the Select Board (page 2 of the application) notes “We have personally received no complaints regarding weekend music”. However, although not many, some complaints have been received by an FHMNA Director who passed those complaints on directly to the owner.

While the FHMNA Board does not wish to constrain Shipwrecked’s success, we are happy with the precedent set by the Select Board last year: allowing only amplified music outdoors, confined to the boundaries of the property, for Bad Martha’s, The Falmouth Yacht Club and Shipwrecked.

If this license is approved, the Select Board’s precedent would be negated for the entire town of Falmouth rather than only for the residents of Falmouth Heights.

This agenda item is slated late in the evening: 10:05 PM. If you feel strongly one way or another about allowing AMPLIFIED music, either recorded or acoustic 7 days a week from 2 PM – 8 PM, please attend the meeting if possible. Otherwise, your comments should be emailed to the Select Board immediately.
