Selectmen Pass New Beach Use Policy

The Board of Selectmen (BOS) met August 8, 2011 and passed a new policy regarding the use of Town beaches.

The new policy states that:

1.  one individual or organization can request a permit for the use of a beach up to two times per month.

2.  applications should be submitted to the BOS at least 60 days prior to the event in order to allow enough time for processing.  Submissions received less than 60 days are not guaranteed to be processed in time.

3.  events may be scheduled any time 4:00 PM or after.

4.  the prohibition against alcoholic beverages being served be clearly stated even though the policy already calls for participants to abide by all the rules and regulations of the beaches.

This policy is to be implemented immediately.
