FHMNA Members Participate in 2025 Spring Cleanup

Due to an absolute washout on Saturday 4/26, members of the FHMNA who volunteered to participate in our Spring Cleanup were forced to default to our Sunday 4/27 rain date. It was unfortunate that we lost 7 or 8 participants due to the date change, but it is certainly understandable.

Twelve hardy souls showed up on a cool, clear, breezy Sunday morning at 9am on the Heights ball field for coffee and donuts before heading out on their assigned cleanup missions. Despite being a bit shorthanded, the participants did a great job cleaning up the public spaces in our neighborhoods. The general consensus from participants was that there seemed to be a bit less trash than years prior, possibly due to the fact that we conducted a successful cleanups in the fall. The nip and single-use bottle ban may have contributed to this,. However, there were still plenty of cans and bottles and other refuse to pick up.

The effort collected 10 ultra-large-sized industrial bags, each about half full, as well as several other construction items too large to fit in a bag.

Below are photos of our cleanup crew and the pile of collected trash which the DPW was kind enough to pick up the following day.
