On 9/12/23, The Falmouth Enterprise posted an article online entitled “Falmouth Select Board OKs Funds For Ocean Outfall Permit Process”. In the 9/15/23 printed edition, page 1, the same article is printed entitled, “$550,000 OK’d For Ocean Outfall Data Collection”.
“The Falmouth Select Board moved the town forward along the road to permitting and constructing an ocean outfall pipe into Vineyard Sound, which is the town’s preferred option for long-term wastewater discharge, during its meeting on Monday, September 11.”
“The board approved $550,000 for the purpose of data collection and evaluations for an ocean outfall permit.”
“Data collection is slated to cost $1.4 million, which will be funded with town and state funds, along with settlement money the town received from the Air Force Center for Environmental Excellence. The $550,000 approved Monday night is all settlement money.”
