This world famous seven-mile road race steps off in Woods Hole at 9 AM with Falmouth Heights Beach as the finish line. For general information and event details, click here to see the official Road Race website.
For those who can’t make it down to the beach, you can watch it on FCTV, Channel 13, streaming live starting at 8:00 AM or find repeat times on the FCTV schedule starting on August 20 (click here).
Traffic will be restricted during race time. Grand Avenue will be closed from Walden Avenue to Worcester Court at 4:00 am and reopen later in the afternoon (est. 2 pm). Other Heights streets will close at 5 AM. For full road closure information, see the Falmouth Police website events page.
A rolling clean-up and reopening will begin immediately after the last runner has begun.
FHMNA’s liaison attends the organization committee meetings. Last year’s concern about the odor and noise of the transportation vehicles has been brought to the attention of the bus company. They plan to reduce idle times in our neighborhood. Bike Valet will take place at Crescent and Grand. VIP parking will be at Teaticket Elementary.
EVENTS:
Thursday through Saturday – Health and Fitness Expo at Falmouth High School (FHS) Field House. VIPs will be in attendance!
Friday – Falmouth Track Festival including the Tommy Cochary High School Mile, the Elite Wheelchair Mile and Elite Mile at FHS Kalperis track will begin at 7 PM.
Saturday – Family Fun Run with children’s’ races will begin at 9 AM at the FHS track.
Sunday – RACE DAY
The finish line set up is similar to last year. Emergency vehicle access is always a priority and security this year will include two drones and a helicopter. Ballpark set up will include the VIP tent, checkpoints, radio station and NBC. The world-renowned health tent will be located near the Falmouth Heights Beach.
On Tuesday, August 22nd, please check your email for FHMNA’s request for members’ feedback concerning the management of the Road Race. All comments will be forwarded to the Road Race managers.
