COMMUNITY MESSAGE FROM FALMOUTH ROAD RACE, INC.:
This Sunday, November 3rd, is the 44th running of the Shipwrecked Falmouth in the Fall road race. Over 1,000 runners will follow the same 7-mile course from Woods Hole to Falmouth Heights as the Falmouth Road Race runs each summer.
The race starts at 11:00 AM and will finish in Falmouth Heights between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. We hope you will cheer our runners along the course and we invite you to join us at Shipwrecked for the Finish Festival, beginning at 11:30 AM.
IMPORTANT: The course for this event is an open racecourse. There will be a short road closure (approx. 10:45 AM – 11:10 AM) as runners go from Water Street > Woods Hole Road > Church St. at the start of the event. Please note that the Eel Pond drawbridge will not be opening at 11:00 AM as our runners will be crossing at that time.
At the finish area in Falmouth Heights, the Grand Ave. will close from Walden Street down to Indiana from 10:45AM until approximately 1:30PM. Central Park Ave. from Crescent will be closed and the Massachusetts Ave. > Nantucket Ave. > the ballfield will be closed for the same timeframe as well. There are course monitors along the route to assist with traffic and ensure the safety of our runners.
We urge you to be mindful of sharing the road with our runners, they have been instructed to stay to the right. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.
