Rich Sherman, the former co-director of the Falmouth Road Race, has recently gained approval from the Board of Selectmen to establish a new road race called the âFalmouth Flag Day 5K Walk/Runâ. The race will be held on June 11 at 10 a.m. The organizers hope to attract 300 runners and walkers who will raise funds to benefit the Falmouth Military Support Group which provides support to military personnel while serving overseas and when they return home.Â
The route consists of a start and finish in front of The Casino Wharf FX (one of their sponsors). To view the route down Menauhant Road with a few twists and turns, click on this link: http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/view/30154812
Rich is no stranger to organizing a road race and has promised to make the safety of the participants, the Heights area (as well as the entire route), and parking a priority in planning out the details of this event.
