FHMNA President Dave Buzanoski has received the following letter from Mayflower Wind:
Dear Mr. Buzanoski,
I hope you are doing well and weathered the recent storm okay. I am writing to let you know that an important milestone in the development of the Mayflower Wind offshore wind project is approaching.
On November 1, the US Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) initiated a 30-day public comment period to scope out what issues to consider in the federal regulatory review of Mayflower Windâs Construction and Operations Plan (COP). See our press release about the public comment period here.
BOEM has published its Notice of Intent in the federal register. The agency will hold virtual scoping meetings on November 10, 15, and 19 and accept written comments by mail or through its web portal. For more information about the BOEM process, please visit www.boem.gov/renewable-energy/state-activities/mayflower-wind.
For those not able to attend one of the virtual meetings, written testimony will be accepted through 11:59 PM EST December 1, 2021. Written comments can be submitted to âMAYFLOWER WIND COP EISâ and addressed to Program Manager, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy, 45600 Woodland Road (VAM-OREP), Sterling, Virginia 20166. BOEM also has an online portal where written comments can be filed at http://www.regulations.gov. At the top of the page in the Search line, enter âDocket No. BOEM-2021-0062â and click on the green âSearchâ button to the right. Scroll down and click on the âCommentâ section and then follow the directions. Check the âI am not a robotâ square and click on âSubmit Commentâ.
Please contact me if you have any questions. I am more than happy to walk any of your members through this important public commenting process.
Kind regards,
Kelsey
